Following is an excerpt from the article as presented in Surface* magazine's 10th Anniversary Issue No.49:

ADVERTISING YOU ARE HOME

San Francisco architect Kyu Che's "billboard pod" is a "lifepod" with a facade that, when placed in a strategic urban locationn, doubles as a billboard. In the billboard advertisement, the public can actually see a couple living in a lifepod, like a fishbowl, arousing voyeuristic curiosity for all passing or driving by.

Ever changing, it's a "real-life" Surface photo shoot taking place inside; a party, a DJ lounge, a breakfast. "The concept addresses current and future issues of the blurring boundaries of public, private, media, real estate, in-fill architecture - and offers new possibilities of capsule living within our complex urban landscape," Che says. Who needs reality TV with one of these in your neighborhood?
